Dr. Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, PhD, is a distinguished Critical Care Specialist, academician, researcher, and healthcare leader currently serving as Associate Professor and Unit Head of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Rajshahi Medical College & Hospital, Bangladesh. With extensive experience in intensive care management, infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical education, he has dedicated his career to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for critically ill patients.

This study investigates microbial spectrum and antibiotic resistance patterns in elderly patients. The study aims to identify the predominant bacterial pathogens causing bacteremia, evaluate their antimicrobial resistance profiles, and determine statistical correlations between resistance patterns and clinical outcomes among elderly ICU patients.

Since the data on C. auris fungemias are quite scarce and limited to small retrospective case series, this international study aimed to prospectively assess patient characteristics, outcomes, and therapeutic approaches. The study, conducted through the Infectious Diseases-International Research Initiative (ID-IRI) platform, involved 34 referral centers.
